2020 Artist Lineup & Bios
For nearly 20 years now, the trio KARPATT has travelled the world thrilling audiences with their songs and contagious energy.
Their sound is an intoxicating mixture of French song, gypsy jazz, rock South American rhythms, with small electro touches here and there.
The Mumbai based urban music act has earned a reputation for its uninhibited live performances & playful energy that makes hip-shaking compelling.
Bombay Bassment has played at all the major festivals in India such as NH7 Weekender, VH1 Supersonic, Sula Fest, Ziro Festival of Music, Jaipur Literature Festival & Goa SunSplash.
They are also the 1st Indian Hip-Hop act to play at Glastonbury Festival in the UK in 2016.
Farhan Rehman is a Mumbai based DJ, music producer and radio host known for his groovy music productions and beat-driven sets featuring unconventional, multi-cultural elements.
Farhan has also co-hosted the much hyped Cosmic Disco Bar at the Magnetic Fields Festival in 2019 along with Stalvart John and has also performed at leading venues in the country such as Kitty Su, Bonobo, Whiskey Samba and Antares Goa.
He is currently a host of the popular show “ The House of Juju” on boxout.fm where he is pushing his musical boundaries by inculcating genres like Jazz, Afro, Funk, Disco & House music. He has also held residencies at premium hot spots like Hakkasan, Townhall and Taj Mumbai.
The Revisit Project
The inception of the band was the result of the desire to bring back some of the greatest tunes of all time while adding a twist of their own. The Revisit Project is all about paying tribute to the distinguished musicians and unmasking a new rendition of some of their best hits.
Reggae Rajahs are a crew of DJs and MCs who focus on promoting dub, roots reggae and dancehall music. Formed in 2009, the group has dedicated itself to spreading the sounds of the Caribbean across India.
Reggae Rajahs have opened for Snoop Dogg and Major Lazer and have also shared the stage with a number of other established international artists. They have toured across Europe, South America and South East Asia in recent years. They host an international reggae festival every year called Goa Reggae Sunsplash, and are also key part of the hand built 10,000 Lions Sound System, one of two Jamaican style speaker systems in India.
Bollyjazz brings a refreshing approach to classic Hindi film tunes through Jazz rhythm and harmony formats, keeping the melodies intact.
The concept is a collaboration between various musicians focussed on bringing a unique sound to the commonly heard songs of the Indian cinema of the 50’s and 60’s. In a time where any experimentation with music, especially Bollywood music, meant simply remixing popular tunes to club beats, Nikhil Mawkin envisioned an amalgamation of two seemingly disparate genres: Bollywood music and Jazz.
